This hospital is horrible. I took my daughter here for her asthma because im here in Schenectady for thanksgiving weekend. So two doctors says she not wheazing , but another doctor comes in checks her and says she is and he proceeds to look at the nurse and the dr like they are stupid. I asked the nurse like why did you say she’s not wheazing her response was oh we all cant hear the same thing. I looked at her like she was stupid because I swear this was literally her answer. My daughter is two years old with horrible asthma they only gave her 1 treatment and basically sent her home. Its like they was rushing for her to be discharged instead of actually helping. Gino is the dr who is VERY rude and i prefer that he goes back to school. His comments was not professional. Like at all
The only bad thing was it was her hip, and so she was required to move her pants down a little, and there were like 6 doctors in the room! Maybe a little privacy would be nice! After her stay a man wheeled her out to the garage. Overall her stay was amazing ( Although the hospital food was.... We expected that coming in, its kind of a famous cliche that hospital food is not very good)! The kindness showed to us by the staff here at this hospital was expectational. Thank you to the wonderful people who work there, and showed kindness throughout the night, even at 2 A.M.(Even waking up a sleepy eleven yearly to take her vitals, they tried there absolute hardest to make it as comfortable as she could be) Thank you to the pets department at Ellis Hospital.
I was in the ER on Thursday Sep. 28th. The service I received was great. Dr.Clara Somoza and the other nurses involved were absolutely great. They all made my visit very easy and explained to me every step they are going to do. My visit was not lengthy, considering x rays, I was in and out within under an hour.
My daughter was having lots of pain in her right hip so we went first to an urgent care, and we went in immediately. Then we went to an Emergent care, where we had to wait for hours. She was in much pain, and sitting in an uncomfortable waiting room chair was not very helpful. Once we got in she got an X-Ray blood tests and hours of sleepless waiting. They called ahead to the hospital and got a room. We drove to the hospital and entered through the garage. The place was basically empty and a t first we were worried that wouldn't be able to find it, but the sign were actually very helpful. The nurses showed nothing but kind and helpful attitudes(They switched from night shift to day shift while we were there) The doctors did what they had to do and did not stretch it out.

I have had poor service with Ellis er twice. I'm suffering from chest pain, abdominal pain and food poisoning and they have refused to help me. My PCP is no better. This hospital is the worst. They help who they want to help, they are very rude and unprofessional. They want you to do all kinds of test, but leave you in pain stating; I'm not giving you nothing!!! I have been suffering for 4 weeks now and nothing is being done. I am going to find out who I can report this hospital to because nobody should have to suffer, especially the way I am.
Don't go there unless it is absolutely necessary. Albany medical center is a far better equipped hospital with a much better attitude of the doctors. In our case all we could feel was that they were trying to make money and do nothing else, where going to albany med was like magic compared to this place. I don't recommend Ellis at all.
